The Mertens Group presents at the 2024 Denver Fire Department Advanced Fire Investigation Seminar

  Forensic Engineer and Owner of The Mertens Group, Karl Mertens, MS, PE, presented “Building Construction for the Fire Investigator” as part of the 2024 Advanced Fire Investigation Seminar in Denver, Colorado.

The presentation focused on structural framing systems and concepts in residential and commercial structures as well as Denver building codes and how these relate to keeping firefighters and fire investigators safe when interacting with damaged structures.

The conference was hosted by the Denver Fire Department and The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
